Getting ads to work with my HTML5 game compiled into a APK using CocoonJS was a task that was pretty easy, but also had a couple confusing steps that I will try to clarify. The first thing you will need to do is become a "Premium Member", although this is free. You simply apply for it with Ludei, and then wait for them to respond that your account has been changed to Premium. For me, this only took a day and in the meantime, I configured my Admob and Mopub accounts and learned how to implement the ads.

A couple years ago, I began writing HTML5 applications and games for fun. HTML5 was hailed as the standard that would unify all mobile devices and marketplaces. No more dealing with multiple device SDK's, multiple device resolutions, or performance among different devices. Using Javascript and the HTML5 canvas, any device 'should' be able to play your game just fine. I had some fun making games as more and more browsers began to support HTML5 and were able to render the canvas faster and faster.

My initial cut of Mutant Zombie Monsters 2 is now online. Currently, there are 10 levels with 15 unique weapons to mow down zombies with. The idea of this game is to be a very simple and easy to play zombie platformer with a variety of levels and weapons to have fun with. I am currently working on fixing bugs and optimizing it for phones and tablets. Touch screen buttons are displayed on mobile devices. Let me know what you think!

These days, Google Adsense allows you to show and hide their adds in your dynamic web content using a combination of your HTML5 canvas, javascript, and CSS. Using a couple simple tricks, you can display an advertisement in your games homescreen for example, and then hide it when your user is playing the game. This allows you to use Adsense, but avoid your game becoming too cluttered with ads while still monetizing it.

texturemate.com is a great resource for free textures and patterns for video game development. All textures and resources there are completely free for gamedev's to include into their games! A lot of the textures are already seamless as well, which cuts down on a lot of time. Texturemate is updated quite often and already contains thousands of free textures.
